For years we have keynoted our projects. Now that we have switched to Revit I am finding Keynoting to be a double edged sword. We have created an amazing materials library named by division with a customized the keynote list to conform to our office standards. The Problem I have is when I download an object from the web and bring it into my model. It brings along tons of materials that have not been configured to our office standards, which makes keynoting (and rendering)difficult. How do other firms that use keynoting by material, manage their materials. One downloaded object can turn a carefully managed file into chaos, much like layers did in cad. Are there 3rd party content managers that help to conform a group of downloaded objects to an office naming standard and material/keynote standard? Please let me know how you tackle this problem. Thanks Paul

There are no standards yet!!!! You will have to open each family and name material & assign keynoting to your standards. Obvoiusly I would use what ever has already been published as a starting point.
