I have a building that is split level-sitting on a slope...when i add my topograpy with the points...it goes through my building in the 3d views. Is there a way to make the topography stop at the building edges?

Ok cljahnke, if I understand well your doubt, you want to "cut" the terrain that goes through your building. Click Site menu-Pad, or on the Site tab of the Design Bar click Pad, then with lines, sketch the contour of your building, click finish sketch, so it will cut the terrain exactly around your building, hope it could help you.
