Just lost my first first Revit file (Revit Building 9.1)

There was a fatal error. A window appeared saying that a recovery file would be generated, and it was. I am not able to open it, though. There is an error message saying "An invalid file handle was associated with... (path)".

I tried renaming the recovery file, but that did not help. Also tried the audit option in the Open dialog.

Anything else I can try?

The Revit file has two copies of a link to an AutoCAD file. Don't know if that would have anything to do with it.

 Thanks
