RA 2008

Have reactivated a drawing that's about 12 month old.  My template has progressed quite a bit since we stopped working on the drawing in question.

I opened up a new project to activate a drawing that has the most recent template in it.

Deleted all content

used "import/link" to pull in the reactivated revit file.

thought it was unusual that I could select a few individual items like roofs, while in the same view I could also select the entire project.  Actually did delete the entire project on purpose.

First time trying to update an older drawing into the most recent template.  A little confused if I'm on the right track.

Any thoughts??

 Thanks in advance.

Go the other way.... purge unused first than transfer project standards from template to project.

THANKS

I NOTICED THAT THE DETAILS FROM TEMPLATE DRAWING DID NOT TRANSFER.  I HAD ROOF PITCH SYMBOLS AND A LOT OF STANDARD NOTES SAVED AS DETAIL GROUPS.

IS THAT NORMAL?  GENERALLY ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD CONSIDER WHEN TRANSFERRING STANDARDS?

AS A MATTER OF NOTATING YOUR DRAWINGS, DO YOU ALSO STORE NOTES AND SYMBOLS AS DETAIL GROUPS?

Details are no problem.  Just File/Insert from file/Views and pick all of the views to transfer.

You can also cut & paste other missing items.
