We have a site plan made up of multiple AutoCAD files. We referened them into one file, then imported it into Revit. While the layers are exactly how we want them in the composite AutoCAD file, in Revit 2009 the layers change. I am looking for any tips on keeping the layers the same when importing them.

Do you mean something like the visretain command in AutoCAD? Try clicking the 'Visible' option in the import dialogue box. I f not all the AutoCAD drawings are coming through this is to do with the xrefs being overlaid as opposed to attached. They need to be attached.
