Does someone know how to make a parametric steel deck, that shows up in section view as well? I've been doing extrusions in section view to make up for the steel part, but I'm guessing that there's got to be an easier way.

Using Version 8.
Structural Framing System, just load the appropriate beam type then set the spacing and draw the boundary and direction...

I guess what he meant is that a floor steel deck supporting the slab but will automatically cut a void to form the steel pan.
It is actually there in version 8 as another layer of the slab properties but it wont cut the slab to form void in the slab. This issue has also been raised in the other forum but no one gives an exact explanation as to what is the purpose of the said new layer function of the slab the metal deck.
