We have been having problems plotting on a HP1055 using the shadow features and shadded with edges. Revit, at times, stops part way thru the compiling stage-around 62% and won't go on. Or it plots partially or won't plot at all. Any sugestions?

Typhoon is right - try another printer to test if it is the plotter or revit. This can be an A4 printer or even Cute PDF or plot file. If it turns out that it is the HP then it may need updated drivers to deal with Windows type printing as opposed to AutoCAD plotting.

Hello, Have you made sure that you are printing in Raster? It should (since you are using Advanced Model Graphics) automatically default to this setting, but it helps to verify. Also, you should check your raster quality settings (in the Print > Setup menu) to see if this is a problem related to your hardware. Occasionally I have problems printing to a laser printer from Revit shadow views because the toner builds up and creates a paper error, but I don't believe that this is your issue. If your computer is using less than 2 GB of RAM or if you have a large project and less than 4 GB the error could be related to your processing capabilities.

We have always had this problem occur when sending shaded views to our HP1050C Plotter. The problem stems from the amount of memory in the Plotter. The solution is to print to Adobe PDF first (using an Adobe Driver), and then send the PDF to the Plotter. The smaller and more stable PDF file format allows the printing to work successfully.
