We have a revit template file that is used for all new projects. when we have edited or modified the imperial library, we need to reload or refresh the library into our template file so every new project is up to date with the current libraries. How do i reload this? Where do i go to do this. Thank you Stephanie

If you have changed a family after it has been loaded, you will have to open each family and re-load it into the template.

My recommendation would be to keep as many families as possible out of the template, except for company standard specific families (i.e. door tags, window tags, etc.; as these shouldn't need to change very often once they are created) and have the users load them into the project as needed. The reasoning behind this are for the reason you have stated above; if you have a limited number of families in your project, then as you load them in as needed you can be sure you have the most up to date families. Another reason is to keep the file size of your template down, this will help load your template faster. Good Luck,

Thanks for your responses. I understand what you are saying about the families and other components, but what i am trying to refresh are things like our MEP symbols, labels, and tags. Things that are our office standards and need to be refreshed. Thanks for your help, but if you have any other suggestions please let me know Thanks again, Stephanie

I that case I believe you would have to go with what WWHub has stated above. Something worth looking into is the BIMContentManager from Digital Building Solutions. Is a little utility for Revit that allows you to organize and compare families within libraries and folders. By the looks of it though, the website looks a bit out of date, I'm not sure if they have an '09 release.
