It has been several months (almos a year) since last time I used Revit. So I am working on a project we are doing on AutoCAD and it is in it's 75% CD. As a personal project I have decided to do it on Revit, specially because most of the decisions are already made and changes are minimal. This is good for practicing in Revit.

So my question is regarding setting up the exterior wall type, which is kinda unusual. It is a wall design for an area where there are woodpeckers. We want the woodpeckers to do their job in the facade, but we added an extra protection, so they do not get inside, or leave room for bats.

I can't just kite understand what is the purpose of the core boundary, and which elements should go inside or outside of it.

Please find a PDF of the wall type in CAD. I would appreciate anyone who can explain this to me, and what is the best method to layout the wall type.

Read your help using core and look at this topic "Applying a Function to a Layer of a Compound Structure".  This will help you determine what you want to put in the core grouping.

That was very interesting, how ever, it didn't respond my question. Which elements should go inside the core boundary, and which ones are tipically on the outside? why?

In the wall we are constructing there is an air space with 2x horizontal blocking @ 16" o.c.. Hoe can I have this blocking ar part of this layer, and shows correctly?

Thanks

I think you need to re-read the help.  It explains clearly what core means and the rules associated with that.  It is up to you what goes in the core based on how you want the walls to display.  This is not an architectural standards issue!
