Hi, I am new to Revit having migrated from Architectural Desktop 2009. I am trying to create a custom family that I call "Wall Mirror" which will have an instance of a plate glass mirrorthat can be attached to any wall and increased in size once in the model. I have been able to create the family and the mirror, but once in the model I can not change the size of the mirror. Should I be using a different template for this? I have been able to create an in-place family and put mirrors on the walls, but I would have have a custom family for use in lots of projects. I am using Revit Architecture 2009. If I may be permitted a second question in the same post - my first attempt at an in-place mirror family resulted in the creation of the family but it's name does not appear in the drop down list of installed family probably because I forgot to give it a name. So I can't reuse it in the model and had to create another with a different name. Anyway to purge the one without the name? When I run the purge command, it doesn't appear in the list. I attached the file for the mirror wall instance built with the face based template for reference. Thanks for your help Steve

I've added reference planes to your family to show you how to accomplish what you want. What I added are type based parameters but you could also make them instance based and be able to change the visually.

I think that there has to be no instances of a particular family in the project in order for that family to show up in the purge unused list. You might have to search around for a few stragglers, hopefully they aren't hiding underneath your new mirror families.
