When I try to render an interior scene, using a 3d camera view, with lights turned one, all it produces is a black screen. I tried using the default 3d view and it renders a light scene. Any ideas on why the lights will not render in a camera view? I know they have worked before. Thanks

It is Revit Arch 2009, I figured out why they were not showing up. The lights being used were recessed cans, and they were recessing into the roof that have, so there was no light coming through the roof. But now that I have light another issue has come up. When rendering an interior, the carpet turns out way brighter under the lights than it looks when I select the color. Here are some shots. The color in the dialog box is a lot darker than the color in the render. ???

my problem is very similar, when scheme option is set to artificial lights on, every vertical surface seems to be black, and i dont mean a not iluminated wall, i tried by putting a lot of lights, by removing every light, but its senseless, the render continues like there are parts that are not being renderized. Also when i render with scheme option set in sun only (interior and exterior) theres no problem with black surfaces.ill apreciate your helpOki- Architect

Double check your "Render Appearance" Settings and make sure they are not set to black or a really dark color. The Shading Appearance can be completely independent from the Render Appearance (and is be default). A quick check would be to make a new material thats a very light color and paint that on a wall and do a quick draft test render. I know the shading appearance / Render appearance differences have caught be a few time on families people posted that started in Sketchup, the shading colors gets mapped but not the render color...

There is a possibility that the phases that the ceiling and the recessed cans were created in are different. They would still interact with each other--the cans will sit in a ceiling of a different phase--but not truly cut it.

Yup. I was having this problem. I had to go into edit type for the wall and go to the first tab; the tab before render appearance. Check the box off at the top that says" use render appearnace for shading" and retry rendering. It should work then.

The light will render no matter tha phase. if the phase of the ceiling is new construction and the light is existing(for whatever reson this may be) the light will still render!
