i am an arch. student trying to create a building where all the second floor is supported by cables from a central column. does anyone have any advice on how to create these in revit 7? secondly, does anyone have some advice on why people do not render at all?! they appear in models, as the usual 2d cutout, but when rendering, nothing appears - I have simply loaded them as the rpc male family - what else do you have to do?

1. Best method is to draw them with model lines (however these will not render). If you need to render them and have them display your best bet is to create a parametric family for 1 cable as a sweep with an adjustable angle etc, then copy around the project and set the angles as required.
2. Check to make sure the RPC locations are in your rendering additional locations list.
Settings-->Options-->Rendering tab-->Bottom window, if not add the location here.
HTH.
