I made a mullion profile for a SSG type of application and when I put it into my project the glass panels do not trim correctly- see attached image. Is there a way to make the glass panels extend to the actual mullion? I am using Revit Architecture 2009. Thanks in advance!

Is that the dimension you want to the mullions? Check the Family type and see if there is all parameters like you want, put here the "Mullion Family" and i take a look...

I took the "rectangular mullion" family, made a duplicate, saved as, then edited it using the dimensions from the kawneer catlaog.

Without seeing exactly what you did, we can't comment a lot. Do you understand how families, parameters and reference planes work? The mullion family that is pre-loaded is set up so that you can modify its size through type variables (parameters). The variables change the location of reference planes in the family and since the geometry is locked to the reference planes, it too is changed. For most modelling, using the pre-loaded muillions and setting the type variables is sufficient for the model but not detailing.

When you make a custom mullion profile, you will see the text in the mullion family that reads,"Curtain Panels are trimmed to where the profile sketch intersects the Center (Front/Back) Ref Plane." So, if lines of the wide portion of the mullion touch the Cebter Front/Back line, it will use that width to trim the panel. See the attached images. I think this will do what you want. Note that I made a new rectangular mullion using the custom profile and then I had to adjust the Offset of the mullion to pull it forward to be in plane with the glass.

That worked great. I was afraid I would have to adjust all of the panels but your post worked like a charm! Thank you!

can either of you help with non-rectangular mullions and how they join? why do the mullions always trim to an imaginary rectangle made up by the outtermost extents of the geometry?
