Hi everyone! I'm working on modelling a hip roof in Revit Arch 2009 where one side is based on a plate height one story lower than the other (see attached image). I've managed to address that issue, which is wonderful. However, I'd also like to take advantage of the variable depth capability of the roof system (http://modocrmadt.blogspot.com/2007/07/modeling-built-up-roof-in-revit.html), so my truss space shows correctly in section. It currently looks like a rafter roof. Is this even possible in Revit? Any ideas? Thanks so much for the help! ~ Lisa

I put the trusses in seperately. There are roof trusses in the (metric) library under structural/framing/Truss members, or you could make your own. I then use the roof to create the roof components only, covering, membrane, battens, depending on the roof type. This then gives more control at edges, such as eaves where the makeup may be different to the centre of the roof. This also then displays perfectly in section.
