I created a few symbols to represent Exit signs for a life safety sheet. Now the weird thing is that sometimes they disappear showing only the ones drawn at a previous session, or disappear completely on the local file that is working on it. They are not hidden or turned off in VV/VG. And it takes us a lot of time to revive them form central or other files. At other occasion it rotated all symbols back to their original created angle. I thought they behaved like dumb autocad blocks that would not scale, but seems they have a mind of their own. Any help on this? Should I switch to families instead?
Thanks

Symbols are like text - they will not scale per view. If your symbol is a 1/8" square when printed, it will be 1/8" in every view - no matter what scale the view is. Detail elements scale themselves per view scale. Both symbols and detail elements only reside in the view they were placed in.

I have never seen that happen so I think the problem is not in the program. We would need more information in order to help you. It might help if you put this symbol in a simple dummy project and see how it acts. You may also have some issues with your system or installed program. If you want to share the symbol, perhaps soeone can look at it but I doubt there is a problem there. What are you running?
