Revit 09 Has anyone tried to duplicate a schedule key - better question - has anyone successfully duplicated a schedule key? I can't simply go to view, duplicate view OR right click on the view and duplicate. I also tried copying from another Revit file and pasting, but that was a no-go. Thoughts?

You can only have 1 key schedule for each type of schedule. Why do you want to copy it?

I'm cheating a little on this one - I'm trying to use a schedule key for some of my text so that the tabbing is easier to control (I was also wanting a master Keynote Schedule that contained all the sheet notes on all sheets so that i could simply modify in one place and have a global update, but i couldn't get that to work either). Since many of the sheets contain duplicate information, with maybe some addition of a note or two, i thought it would be easier to copy and modify - however you bring up a good point in that you are only allowed 1 schedule key per schedule type.....it's not working according to plan....

Matt, If you still worked here you'd know how, lol. Bags just had that come up this morning. Haha, Brent Im not sure what his answer was but can you export the view to a file, then import the file (changing the name of either the original key schedule or the exported one before "insert from file"

Thank you Brent for you words of encouragement.... The name or title of the schedule key is not the problem - I think robinballew hit the issue on the head in his response in that you can only create one schedule key per type of schedule. You can't alter that unless you create a new schedule key using a different schedule type....(i.e. the original schedule key was started from 'Site' - you can never create another schedule key starting from 'Site' again - even if you copy/paste/import/export/etc.) I just had to abandon my original idea and copy/paste manually.....

Matt, You are so welcome for those encouraging words, lol. Didnt you create the Nurse Call Device Scheduel that we use for General notes? We have several of those schedule in the file In the Flavors of General Notes, Refelcetd Ceiling Notes, Finish Notes, Finish Schedule, Finish Legend.....I did Notice as I was creating several of these yesterday (I didnt know we had switched to that format until last week) That My Key Could Note be the same from each schedule. For General Notes it was "Key" for the next it was "Tag" etc, you can change the name of it while "editing the schedule" Or am I just misunderstanding what you are doing and completely wasted all of the above typing, lol. Brent
