I have say 30 Text Elements that all need to say the same thing (the issue date). Over time they will all change at each current issue date. In theory it would be extremely benefitial to change all 30 elements in one typeing.. or one shot. -Is there a way to edit text with out double clicking in the view and literally editing it? Such as Contents in the Element Properties Dialog Box? -Hence should I make a keynote with an additional parameter called "Contents" and possibly have all of them selected at one time and change them in one shot?. I am not sure FYI- AutoCad you simply select all text objects and you can edit them all in one shot one type in the properties dialog box. I essentially want that ability in revit. Thanks in advance.

In Revit we call that a Lable. Just like the project name or address. Create a lable for the date you want to track and place it in the Titleblock family. When you load the titleblock it and fill in the date all will update. If you want a quick and dirty way you can also just edit the title block family and type in the date. It will then just be part of the family. The bad part about that is every time you need to change the date you need to edit the family.

Thanks for the information. I do understand the label thing. But that only applies to families while in the family editor. Why cant I have a simple label or tag or keynote in the project itself and not in the titleblock family? I only want this issue date to appear on the coversheet nowhere else. I tried making a tag and a keynote but like all other things you cannot cross transfer system parameters and simply put the Issue Date Parameter (titleblock parameter) in a Tag. What am I missing?

Just like model families you can make instance parameters with ON/OFF Visability. Just make the new lable with a switch so you can choose when to display it. Post it if you need more help..
