Hey...why do model based materials start acting all screwed up when you join solid forms? I have a wood model based pattern and when i apply it to a complicated solid form it shows up correctly, but as soon as i join that form to another one, to clean up the model, the hatch becomes totally messed up. Has anyone else ever ran into this issue and has anyone come up with a way to make the pattern show up correctly? I know if you set it as a "drafting" patter then the hatch will show up correctly in elevation views, which is what I will probably have to do for the documents, but I want the pattern to be a model based so that I can take views in 3D and have it look good...is that too much to ask Revit for?

I haven't experienced this. Can you provide a screenshot of the issue to reproduce?

Here is an example. The model on the left shows the pattern the way it is suppose to look, and the model on the right is what happens after the soild forms are joined, as you can see the pattern gets all screwed up.Edited on: Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 9:04:10 AM

Ohh that's pretty. - File a SR via the subscription centre so the issue is reported.
- Have you tried a simpler surface pattern and see if you get the same results?
- Last resort would be avoid joining geometry and apply the material to the other element and just clean up the join manually where required.
HTH.
