I am trying to create a comprehensive materials list that breaks out materials as much as possible. when I export the model through ODBC, the materials list does not list different thicknesses of GWB, even though different thicknesses have different costs associated with them. is there any way to create a material id code for items you want separated from other materials that Revit Architecture 2009 groups together?

I might be wrong, but i don't think this is possible. Wall Types with different costs is possible. I'm not sure if you can return the thickness and material as part of the wall to figure volumes or area, which you can then mutliply by the cost. If you figure this out please post about it, I'd be interested to see the result, I'm sure others will be

I'd imagine you'd be doing this with a wall schedule in conjunction with a material take off. You wall schedule can report the make of the wall and area so you can then calculate the area per thickness. The most accurate way would be to model the finish layers separate to the structure, but this isn't necessary.
