My model is a steel frame building with exterior cmu bearing walls and interior steel columns. I have set up my model with a monoslope roof using a named reference plane which is placed at the appropriate slope. I then assigned the roof members to this plane and attached the columns with an offset to this plane. The one problem I see with this method is that the girders align perpendicular to the sloping plane instead of being strictly vertical (this applies for both wide flange and joist girders). Does anyone know of a work around (other than changing the rotation of each individual girder - since if I were to change my roof slope later, I'd need to go back and modify all the girder rotations individually again).
