Demolishing windows or doors is leaving an outline of the wall infill in a black line. The same happens if I place a family in a proposed phase wall - the lines appear in the existing phase. can anyone help me with this? Please? Anyone tried getting on the chat room? I just got a load of abuse!! Not very welcoming. Thanks for any help in advance.

You need to use your help to better understand how to control how phases are displayed. If you do not want the outline of the infill to show up in elevation, use your linework tool and change the outline to invisible line.

Thanks for the advice but this isnt the problem. The same thing happens with other door and window families that I havent created. I have tried making the same wall and window etc in another file and it doesnt happen. It is just this file it happens on so I am assuming that there is something in that file which it doesnt like. Any other thoughts?

Check your wall and infill properties. They need to have the same structural usage (bearing, non-bearing, etc.).
