I browsed a few threads on a similar note. They wanted to have the "real" Room Name Parameter on the Ceiling Tag. Whats up with this? Why is it so difficult to place the Room Name Parameter in a different Tag? Because its a system parameter? Because its an element category tag verse a room tag ? There has to be a way to get a Room Name on the Ceiling Tag. With out filling it it manually? It just dosent make sense to fill in a room name when there allready is a Room Name. FYI I have tried quite a few times to get this and am still unsuccessful. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would just add a room tag and a ceiling tag. You will not be able to combine Room information into a ceiling tag.

Curently you cannot tag accross catagories. So rooms will never talk to cielings which means no room name on ceiling tags and no ceiling height in room tags or schedules. Part of the issue is that a ceiling can be in multiple rooms or a room can have multiple ceilings. At some point Autodesk should get it to the ACA point of a ceiling, door, etc having a tail so that you can tell it which room it belongs to. But at the moment thats a pipe dream. FYI curently we use our room tag with a ceiling tag under it. However we have concern from our interiors department as to how the contractor will tell what the ceiling is if there are multiple ceilings in one room. So we are going to a 3 or 4 box ceiling tag with height, material, finish and possibly notes. These will be completely independant from the room tags. HTH Nick

Thanks all for the information and direction. Much Appreciated. =) As of now I am going to use a ceiling tag similar to our room tag and just manually name the room name and numbers accordingly. Even though there is a smart room tag out there I do understand you cannot cross the parameters. Any thoughts about 2009 and fixing this? Did it get any better yet?
