I was wondering if anyone else using revit 2009 had experienced usual occurances in revit. recently while working a project I began to notice that things I had previously edited or put into the model would disappear as it was never done. and then most recently a coworker and i noticed that three floors disappeared out of one of the buildings in the model. these were floors that had been there for quite a while so it wasn't a matter of making them and not saving correctly. it seems as though each time we make a step forward we get pushed two steps back. also when two walls meet at a corner on the exterior it does not always model correctly and join, when I try to trim or join the elements it does not always clean up the corner. I have gone through the model once before and made all those conditions work, but when a coworker and I edited and moved party and exterior walls more problems occurred on the exterior wall and several new as well as old conditions are not joining cleanly. if anyone knows why this happens or ways to prevent it from occurring again it would be so greatly appreciated! thanks

With reference to your floors dissapearing, this may be to do with levels. If you delete a level from an elevation or section then any floors that reference the level will also be deleted. This is not always obvious as the floor may be some distance from the level when the base offset is used. With the walls not joining correctly, if you use the edit profile command to overide the shape of the wall this can cause problems on the corners.

This really is just a training problem. Things just don't seem to disappear. The problem is that you have staff deleting your floors and other elements. We had-have the same problem in our office. Because this is a model in 3d, users need to refine their selection process when using windows or crossings. - Every user needs to ALWAYS use the filter to make sure what you has been selected. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there! That line you thought you were deleting may be a floor..
- ALWAYS review your warnings and expand them. Don't just say yes when REVIT tells you something is being deleted.
- Learn what happens when you disjoin or don't disjoin items that are being moved.

I try to preach to our staff that when it comes to shared levels and grids you should have the job PM check out that workset so you don't have to worry about your levels being deleted or structure getting shifted.
