Is there any way by which i can purge only the selected family types..e.g. can i purge on the wall types or the door types.. coz if i purge unused then the system stops responding as the file has become too heavy...

If you go to the purge unused dialogue box and 'check none' you can then highlight only the items you want purged.

You can go down through your family tree and individually delete the families or just types from a family. If the family or type is being used, REVIT will warn you.

but if i click purge unused from file menu, the system stops responding ,is there any other way by which i can perform the same thing and get the selection box..??

Are you sure it quit or did you not wait long enough for it to filter the database. Large projects with many families may take awhile.

i had wait for around 2 to 2 1/2 hrs but it didnt come.
