I've been struggling with pads and subregions in this project. I haven't been hab;e to use them properly because whenever I make a pad or subregion it alters the surrounding topography by making weird depressions on the surface. When I open the toposurface editor, all the points have the correct height. When I created the pad I correctly set the reference level and the offset height. Any suggestions or idea about why this happens? Is the first time I've been having problems with pads. Please see the picture included showing my problem. Thanks!!!!

Hi, well it's very wierd what it's happening with your site, i don't remember that issue, don't you change your points in that topo surface? can you put some images in 3d views with shade to look at it better?

Hi! thank you for your reply. Every time I need to grade a surface flat I have to move points, I can't use pads, the same thing with subregions. What is weirder is that this problem is new beacuse a few weeks ago I worked with pads and subregions and they worked fine, but then I erased them because the building layout changed. Also, I have a little pad I can't erase because if I erase it, it "destroys" the topography, see what happens in the last picture. I inclued also picutes of the graded topography (I graded it moving points) and what happens if I use pads. thank you again!

Wierd. Maybe try deleting any points that occur under the pads and put some new ones around the perimiter of the pad at the height of the pad (so it grades up to it nicely). This may simplify those areas. You may have a few adjacent points in there that are at quite different heights, that cause the topography to fold on itself. Just a thought... HTH

Somtimes points can be hidden under things, even inside a building pad. Try turning off layers, and only look at the toposurface. Begin editing the surface. Grab the entire area of the odd dpersion. You may find one or two misplaced points tha tare creating the problem. Pick each point and look a the height in the ribbon. Or just deleat all of the points in the troubled area and drop in a few new points that are correct.
Less points are better/faster. Put more points at bottom of steps, doors, and along both sides of retainig walls etc. Keep them sparce every wher else.
