Hi everyone, I'm a total noob when it comes to Revit, but I'm slowly learning the ins and outs of the program. Any suggestions for me as I help others bring BIM to the forefront in my firm? Thanks, Jay

I would speak with implementation specialists Jayster. I don't know what is available in Nebraska, but you could call CAD1 in Colorado, they have a support team that does training and bootcamps and things of that nature. Their head trainer is extremely good and very easy to follow for the new users.

Those are some great links, thank you very much! I think my biggest challenge will be to incorporate our current CAD library into the new system. I understand that Revit is NOT AutoCAD, however I would hate to see all of those details go to waste. Thanks, Jay

Yeah JAY, Revit is not Autocad but you can to use to advantage your "CAD library details", read the tutorials and the HELP menu and you will see how can you use those "CAD Details"...

Hi REEE, in first time: Welcome to Revit World, in second: "I find by thinking of the process and really asking WHY to establish needs of modeling etc.. has helped me.", what are you trying to say?

Thanks Typhoon I was looking at the comment of bringing the firm to the forefront of BIM. I have been involved with a lot of planning and resistance to get to the point where we are finally using Revit. Revit is a "TOOL" of BIM and great tool at that. Establishing the current state immiediate needs and the future state provides a starting point to implement the tool to those needs. Basically one step at a time. This seems to work best for implementing a strategy. Remember you may use other tools than just Revit for BIM. Do you need to consider implementing current tools into Revit or would you need to use new ones? Should everyone go to Revit? These are some questions to ask. BIM is definitely the future! I am happy to finally be a part of it all.

REEE, again welcome and congratulations by your "planning and resistance", Revit it's a great "TOOL" in did but "Remember you may use other tools than just Revit for BIM.", well, if you look my gallery there are some pictures i just may "use" other programs like you can see, when you ask "Do you need to consider implementing current tools into Revit or would you need to use new ones?" well i tell you, we must do the "job" most quick and perfect we can, so, if i must use some other "Tools" than Revit to do it, i do it..... "Should everyone go to Revit?" - Should everybody buy the same car with the same color and the same horse power????
