Hello there, I'm working on a project with no elevations set up. The project has "Level 1" and "Level 2" floor plans at the moment. When I got to create an elevation view, my level markers are not there. SO I go to Visibility Graphics, and under Annotations, "levels" is checked. Then I turn on my lightbulb, and uncrop my view (in case they are out in no mans land). Still no level markers. I can re-draw levels, but when I do that, it creates a new one titled "Level 3". I don't want a new one, I want to see Level 1 and Level 2. Any idea how I can get these back into my elevation drawings? Or how I can re-draw Level 1 & 2 in my elevations drawings? Thanks, Lorne

I find that video somewhat confusing? Lorne, do not redraw the levels. Your question is actually perfectly clear and a very typical problem for beginner as well as advanced revit users. I would say this is in the top 20 of common revit problems for newbies. What happens is, you go to an elevation (or section) view and you cannot see one or more of the level or grid lines. The problem is that the extents of the 'elevation (or section) view' do not ' intersect' with the extents of the datum (level's or grids 3d endpoint). This can probably be fixed right away by by setting the elevation views property for 'far cliping' to ' No Clip'. The lesson here is 'intersecting views and datums' and how they interact with each other and control each others views. Then on top of that we can add 'scope boxes' as well.  I am assuming you have not included the use of scope boxes) This is a very important aspect of revit that should really be understood fully. Because this is an important and broad subject with variable factors it cannot be easily explained in simple words and images so I have created a dedicated 15 part video tutorial series on this exact subject but unfortunately I have to charge $ for this series. (kids need to eat) Bottom line is, the view extents and datums have to intersect with each other. Try drawing a new section perpendicular to the elevation in the plan view. Then go to that section to adjust the 3d endpoint of a level. Here is the link to the 15 part video series > http://www.cadclips.com/REVIT-AC-2008-Datums.aspxIntersecting Views and Datum 3d end points is the problem you are having. Exactly what I needed. Thank you. It's always something simple that we overlook isn't it?
