Hi,

I have created a custom Balaster, but the graphics on the 3d views are poor, I have uploaded a view to show you what I'm talking about and also the family.

I'm using Revit 2009 & have tried with both Open GL turned on and off.

Does anyone else have the same problems, & anyone a solution.

Hope you can help.

Hi KING, what is the measure of that element? i think "He" do this because the element is very small, but when you render "he" the visualisation it's fine, try to do that...

Hi Typhoon,

yes the element is small about 12mm in Size.

It is also fine in elevation & sections. it would be nice to know the limits of the size as they are part of the balastrade/handrails of my stairs.

I have just made the part a lot bigger 140 mm (over a foot) and its still crap graphics.

Any ideas why?

I don't have a 100% of sure but i think i see in the manual the minimum size of the elements in Revit is 0.0021m, but i see lot of this kind of issues ONLY in small elements like your, and if the elements are in arc, circle it's "worste" (i don't know if this is the right word)...

hi so now i'm thinking their may be something up with my graphics as i started a new Generic Model family and created a revolve 2 meters in diameter and i still get the same problem, although not as bad.

i have uploaded the family, any chance you could open it and see it you get the same result as me, or even creat you own family.

thanks for all the help.

I have tried to submit it to Autodesk subscription help but their site seems to be having problems today so I can't log on.

I sometimes have that happen as well. My solution:

ignore it.
