Well, the "arch way as in the gree bits" it's very simple, draw the wall with the width and materials you want, then pick in the wall and in the "Option Bar" pick in "EDIT" button, the wall will transforms in 4 lines magenta (pink), then you can draw extra lines, arcs to do that, remember in the final you must have a "Polyline" closed, without intersections. To do the "Doom Roof" you can create it in several ways, in one piece or two, depend if the materials of the base of dome it's the same to the roof, but i think i create before the Base of the dome and after the dome (cupola)- you can use in MASSING create a mass by "Solid Revolved" or "Solid Sweep" and then create a "Wall by face" and after this create by the same way the Cupola (dome) and create "Roof by Face".... also for the base you can do a "Solid Blend" (2 circles Base-Top) then use "Void Blend" to remove the interior and you can create a family "FACE BASED" to create those "Opening-Windows", OR you also can go go to "Modelling" and create-in-place those elements in the categories you want, i'm sorry because i am not in my office and i don't have here the JING program to create a video for you, but this is very easy to do...

By the way, your roof-dome it's like an ORANGE, several arcs, well you also can do with a "Polar Array", you know how many segments you must divide the roof, so create one element and after create an polar array by the center with 360 degrees and the number of segments you want, and voila...

Ummmm.. well, I try to create only the roof using Massing... just like Typhoon said.. and attached is the result of it... For the base, I create it with Solid Blend, and create wall by face. For the Dome, I Use Solid Revolve, and use roof by face.

So, this is the first video: http://screencast.com/t/hOT9iaejyX the second video: http://screencast.com/t/FJEnR2oenxK by the way, i don't create with "MASSING", i just got to "MODELLING" and in down "CREATE" and choose for category "Walls", in this way you don't need to create a "Wall By Face" because you can give the material you want to these objects separately, so, if you have any problem say...
