I'm attempting to Purge Unused in a fairly large file. Each time I do, this error message pops up: "This action has caused deletion of non-editable Workset 'Main'." I try to "Make Elements Editable," but it has no effect. I can't seem to resolve the error message. Has anyone run across this before?

What are you trying to purge?

I'm purging anything that's loaded into the project but unused - families, groups, styles...

Actually, I had a similar error message pop up when I tried to delete a model group in the same file earlier. All I had to do in that case was to ungroup the entities, and then delete them. It worked, although I'm not sure why. However, in that instance I knew exactly which group/family/style was causing the error. In the purging process, I don't know which of the several hundred objects are causing the error.

Ya because if you are trying to purge something that is somehow attached to something else, then it wont let you. The best way to figure out what is causing the problem is to just go through the unused and purge one group of elements at a time. HTH

I've experienced this before with views. It is typically a minor corruption in the database. If you have the time to spare send the file to support to repair the database as there isn't anything you can really do at your end and there is also a chance that it could start to get worse...

Well, that's certainly not a good thing! By "support," did you mean AutoDesk's support, or is there another support service available? Also, what steps can I take to prevent this type of corruption in other project files? Thanks for the quick responses, Belinski & Mr Spot!

I have the same problem that is caused by a corrupt model group. It doesn't matter which workset I've placed that group into, when I try to delete the group I get the error message "This action has caused deletion of non-editable workset X." I've also tried to delete everything inside the corrupt group, creating an empty group, but I still can't delete it or purge it from the file. Any ideas?
