Hi, ive been using all the amazing downloads you guys have here on this website and im very new to it but am still learning. I am trying to find a copper roof material. I am working on a home plan where the client wants a copper roof covering a cant. bay window. I have been trying to find a good copper material to use to when i present the plans to my client they are very pleased with the look. If you guys happen to know where i can get that please help me out or if you have any advice please let me know.

Thank You,

Stephanie

What version of Revit are you using? RA2009 has a copper roofing material in the library - make a new material and under the "render appearance" tab type metal for catagories - copper is listed - see the attached image.

how did you create your template/ file you are using? If you just upgraded an old template/file - it may not have all the new materials loaded in. If that is the case you need to make a new material :

Setting > Materials

then go to "render appearence" tab and next to the "render appearance based on" choose "replace", this should load from the new render materials in Revit, look under metals for the copper.

When you say the link looks different - does it have all the tabs that are on my image - or are they different?  can you send an image?

When i do that i can find that Copper Satin material you are showing me but in your image it is showing a ball with the material on it. In where my image should be it is just a black box.

And what i mean is your interface, like the materials you have in your list to the left and just the way your interface looks is different than mine. And i dont have some of the materials you have in the list to the left. The image you sent me you had a one that said Metal - Copper mine doesnt have that

I would love to send a photo but im not sure how to show you

If you want to see the ball or something else try the pull down box next to "scene" and choose sphere.

You may not have some of the materials on my image as some of them are customised in the office.

There has been an update to the material library with the latest build - do you have this? Under the "help" menu > about Revit Architecture 2009 > at the top right corner it should say : "20080602_1900"

I would advise downloading it if you have not.

If you want to print the screen you press PRTSCN button on your keyboard , go to photshop or work or some similar program and paste the image in. If you pres ALT then PRTSCN it will copy only the dialouge box you have open not the whole screen.
