I have a stone hatch pattern for AutoCAD which I want to use as a fill pattern for a wall in Revit. I can't seem to import it directly to Revit 7 even though the hatch pattern has the same extension (.pat)... Any ideas?

You have to add a line under the header that declares to Revit what type of pattern it is:
Type the header in this format: *Concrete Paver.
In the next line, type the type declaration: ;%TYPE=MODEL (or %TYPE=DRAFTING)
The Revit help file contains some basic information.

Use HatchKit v.2.4. You can find it at www.cadro.com.au. It lets u control tha scale of the hatch pattern etc. Anyway this program helped me whit the same problem. When you save the pattern, you can choose between model or drafting in Revit :-D

I have followed the step that you have provided for converting the hatch to make it a model hatch pattern. when I apply it to the model the scale seems to be really small. is there a way to adjust the scale? I noticed that there is a box for the scale adjustment but it seems to be greyed out. is it something I need to adjust in Autocad before I bring it into revit? or is there something to adjust in the pat file itself?

Edit the model pattern you want to change the scale of, import the .pat file again and the scale adjustment will become available. You will have to repeat this process, if you don't like the initial results, until you get it to look the way you like.

When you bring a model pattern into Revit using a pat file, you can set the scale of the import then.
