I find it hard to believe that I can't grab the end of a leader and "snap" it to and object, say either a beam or grid line. Am i missing something or do I really have to eyeball it? Thanks in advance.

It snaps sometimes, but all you have to do is put the blue dot as close as you can to the object and it will look perfect. The only way you can tell thats its not perfect is if you zoom way in. HTH

Text doesnt snap because it doesnt see anything as being its host. If you want the leader to snap you would have to use a label or keynote. Then it sticks to the object unless you use a "free end" in which case Revit assumes you want it truely free and does not snap... HTH Nick
