I assigned a material with a floor tile pattern to the treads of a stair. The floor tile pattern does not show on the stairs in plan view. It is visable in 3d. How can I let it show in plan view?.

Hi, in plan view you are in coarse, medium or high view mode? do you "play" with this and check if appears? do you ZOOm IN to stairs and check if you can See? Can you post some screen shots with this? in the menu properties of the materials, and a view in plan and 3d?

Detail level is fine. Tiles do show on the floor. That is the same tile. Other patterns don't show either. Colour does. Thank you for answering.

Like typhoon said, did you mess with the course, medium and fine setting in plan view?

Hi EVELINE, in that "Plan View" VG, then go to down to "STAIRS" and in the "Projection/Surfaces" in "Patterns" pick in the field "Overrides", it open a new box when you can check if "Visible" are "on" if not check it then select a "Color" and select the "Pattern"....

Well, in your image it's CLEAR (CRISTAL...), on the right of the "Stairs" you have 4 (four) fields with "Override...", don't you see? look the image you post.... then follow what i post before....

I do see it, I just don't get it. Sorry. Doesn't the box "fill patterns" say that no overrides are active?

Yeah EVELINE, that's the point, in your picture you have that new box where are ON the "VISIBLE" and you have in the color and the pattern "<NO OVERRIDE>", so you must click in the "No Override in COLOR" and change that color, even if you want the same color actually you must select the color, then in "No Override PATTERN" you MUST select the pattern you want, then when you pick OK, apply, Ok, you can see in the PLAN VIEW the changes you just made..... If you need more information tell something...

Would'nt that affect all the stairs? This are the only stairs in tiles.

Thas is not a solution than. I think it is strange that, altough the material of the treads is tiles it does not show. Thank you for thinking with me though.

EVELINE, if in this case "This are the only stairs in tiles" well, go to drafting menu and create a "Filled Region" with invisible lines around the stair (lock them to stair) and with that pattern, and put the background "Transparent".... because really i don't have here the RAC 2009, and i don't understand why when we change the pattern to the stairs "in drafting" and "in Modelling" and "he" don't assume that.... Everyone?
