We have a hefty mix of light fixtures in our project and to differentiate them in the RCP, we need to represent each type individually. I'm finding that the family editor does not have filled regions, is there a way to get them in a family? The only way I can think of getting this done is using different materials. Is there an easier way? Thanks

We use symbols for our light fittings in plan. We hide all of the 3d geometry in the RCP and plan. This has the advantage of keeping the symbol the same size no matter what the scale of the drawing. The symbol will allways be 5mm across whether a 1:100 or 1:50 drawing. Basically you go and make a symbol family (that looks like a traditional drafting symbol) say for a spotlight we use a circle with an arrow to one side. Save the symbol, then import it into the lighting family. Align and lock it to thereference planes, an use visibilty settings to hide all of the 3d geometry in the plan views. See the attached image.
