Hi guys and girls A quick question regarding rendering and computer spec. My company have just bought me a new Dell Precision workstation T5400 with the following specCPU - Xeon E5405 2GHz Duo Quad core (8 cpus)RAM - 4GbHDD - 140GbGraphics - NVidia Quadro NVS 290 (256Mb) Now with this spec i'd have thought it wouldnt have had many problems with rendering but i get the message 'there is not enough memory to create the rendered image. close unnecessary project views and applications, and/or reduce the size of the rendered image by shrinking the crop region or reducing the image resolution'. If i drop the resolution i then egt a message saying theres not enough space on the hard drive which is daft as theres well over 120G still available. I wouldnt have said that the drawing im rendering is particularly complex, only columns, beams and slabs - the file is only 10Mb. Any ideas how to solve this? Thanks, Adam

Hi, it's strange because with that caracteristics "he" should work VERY good, i have a Dual-Core 2.4Mhz, 3Gb Ram, ATI-512Mb and it works "Cristal", did you upgrade to the SP1 (Web update)?

What OS are you running? If you are running XP x86 do you have the 3 Gig switch turned? Even better you may look into updating to XP x64 which uses ram differently which improves how well Revit runs. Make sure you have the most up-to-date drive for your graphics card. One note is that Revit 2009's renderings will only use 4 cores max at the moment. Rendering print just fits it to a paper size. Typhoon you are using ATI which is AutoDesk recomended btw where NVidia isnt...not sure if this is the problem though.
