I did the tutorial about nested door panels that Mr. Spot put up on his blog and that all went fine. I would like however, to be able to adjust the swing on the doors in 3D for the nested families. I have done something like this before with a ref line and 3D extrusion but the same process won't work with nested panels. So far I can get them to swing but they don't stay locked to the door jam horizontally or vertically. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure that the swing line is locked to the reference line, which is locked to the door by its end point.

Maybe thats my problem then. I have my reference line locked to a refrence plane with an angular dimension. That works fine, I can flex the reference line and it moves like it should. It's the attaching the door panel to the refrence line that I can't get. I'm not sure what you mean by locking the door by it's end point but the align tool doesn't seem to have that function. I'm probably missing something fairly obvious.

You lock the end point of the ref line to the door corner. this option will appear when you hover over the end point and hit tab a couple of times.

Got it. I was locking the door to the wall face not the reference line. Got that corrected and it works like a charm. Thanks
