Hi, I was just wondering if it was possible to display beam systems with just a single beam with a tag saying what centres they are at. I have got a model with a number of beam systems on it, and it seems a bit unneccesary to show every single beam, when it could just been shown as a beam with a tag showing the extents of the system. Thanks in advance, Alex

That kinda defeats the purpose of modeling it, doesn't it? If you're looking for just an annotation, you could create an annotation that looks like the symbol you are looking for (single beam with arrows extending away to indicate the extents of the system) to place on the CDs. You could also just hide all beams but one for each system if you really want to do that. I think your best bet is to develop a tag/annotation symbol that does what you are wanting it to. HTH,

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Not at all, rkitect. There's much more to modeling that just the visual aspect. Analysis & quantities are two that come straight to mind. The 'hide by element' works in 2008, but in a trial version of 2009 when hiding certain beams it hides the tag as well, even if it's not selected. Also when moving the cursor over the beams that are still visible it only highlights them as if they were individual beams & does not hightlight the beam system. Could someone test this in their 2009 please, to see if they get the same results? Thanks in advance Dave F.
