So, I'm fairly new to revit, and I'm attempting to do a bit of cost estimation for a project I'm currently working on. I've created a new area schedule for cost estimation, and 2 new area plans. However, all of the information I need to populate the schedule is in my floor plan(areas, room types). It seems that I have to go back through and redo all of the areas(rooms) in the building with area boundaries. Is there any way around this? Can the room boundaries somehow be used as the area boundaries?

No - just use a schedule that includes your rooms. There is an area listing there.
