toilet and interior elevation: all the toilet families I was able to find have unwanted lines due to the topology of the 3d object, so I edited the family and turned off the visibility in elevation of the 3D object. Now, obviously, I can see ceramic tiles through the toilet. So I edited the toilet family again and added an extruded mass using the outline of the toilet and set it to show in elevation. It almost works, in fact the toilet elevation shows fine the only problem comes if I want to do a rendering of the bathroom and the extrusion would show up since there is no way to set off the visibility of a family mass in 3D. Does anybody have any suggestment on this issue? Am I missing something fundamental? Thanks.

Our typical process for using 3D modelled toilets is. (Typical Caroma) Import a 3D Dwg model of the toilet and set its visibility off to everything but 3D. Then create detail components incorporating filled regions to represent the toilet in plan/elevation/section. Works well and the filled region will block out the floor/wall finishes. HTH.

Mr Spot, here is a revised version of the domestic toilet family from the imperial library with fill region as you suggested. I think it works well and if you agree with me I am going to upload it to revitcity since I was not able to find one usable for interior elevation. Again, thanks for your advice.
