you can use fill patterns for a tile layout...and you can align the pattern lines to any other line. there is a tile fill pattern that comes with revit.

if you need to move your tile pattern on the floor, you can use the align tool to move the pattern

The problem with using a fill pattern is that it is a 2D object, and therfore overlays 3D information. As a result you would have to shape it around things like toilet, bath, sink, etc. Quite tedious. Better to use a split face on the floor and apply a fill pattern to it. This way the tiling is also 3D and so sits UNDER your other objects. As Hiroshi noted already, you can use the align tool to set the pattern to the origin point you want. Cheers, Wesley

I think you mean a filled region... fill patterns are applied to materials and filled regions.

True, so... when you use a fill PATTERN use it on a SPLIT FACE, not in a fill REGION, and you will get the 3D result I discussed. Wes
