First off, let me say how happy I am with the switch to the Mental Ray engine in Revit 2009. It is a HUGE improvement over the Accuview render engine in 2008. The ability to add lighting with the IES files and actually see how the lighting behaves in the space is (I think) an amazing feature. It is something we have used a ton in our office to visualize spaces as we are designing them. Unfortunately, manufacturers have to catch on and start giving us these files more easily. The one thing I have been wishing with this new more realistic rendering is the ability to add Batch Rendering. Often times if I know I have a big rendering to do, I set it up, start it and go home for the night to come back in the morning. (I know many other users are doing the same thing from what I've been reading). I think the next step would for Autodesk to add Batch rendering to enable us to set 2-3 images to run overnight back to back. This would be particularly useful. What do others think?
