I'm trying to export a fairly basic floor plan to .DWG (2004 version), and my .DWG is 3 megs. Why? I have my plan view set to "coarse"... Any tips would be much appreciated!

The only thing you have in Revit file is "fairly basic floor? did you try to PURGE the file (in Revit) before export to CAD?

Well, it's a 20,000 sqft bldg, and it's mostly one large gymnasium space. Do .DWG usually run about 2,775k? My elevations are only 232k... I did try purging, but it didn't even dent the file size of the exported .DWG.

Did you try to import in Autocad 2008 or 2009? this versions have the "hability" to "Compress" more the file... did you also purge the file in CAD after imported?

Luminosa, you don't awnser my last question but, it's the same you post before but i have no images of what do you export and since i have in REVIT files with 100 and 150MB, well 3MB is not SOOOO big compare with that, in REVIT put in 3d View and export only that view.... and when you import in CAD (2008 or 2009) PURGE the file and see if he reduce the MB on the file...

It should not be that large unless it's a 3d plan. Something is on in VG that drives this size. Do a bubble-sort turn off half your model elements and see what you get - if it is a big change - then something in that half is doing it - half that group and do again. If no big result then switch halves.... keep doing it until you find what the problem is. BTW - do you have any linked or inserted AutoCAD items. If you do, there may be things way out in model space.
