Hello there, I'm using Revit Structure 09. I am wondering if anyone knows why when I paint both sides of a wall, sometimes both sides and sometime only one side get taken off in a material takeoff. I would put the material in the wall family, but I need a different material based on the height of the wall. The only way to get it to take it off of both sides, is to rebuild the wall and then paint it again. I'm confused. Like I said too, sometimes it does work the first time, just don't know why. Any ideas. Thanks.

As far as I know, the paint bucket tool does not schedule.

Paint bucket should schedual if you do a material schedual. The bigger issue that I see is that neither the paint bucket nor verticly changing walls (ie red brick from 0-3', white brick 3'-6', green brick 6'-9') will export to schedualing software such as QTO.

I stand corrected .... paint bucket will schedule some of the time. It doesn't seem to schedule on a stacked wall where I split the face however. I should not say schedule ... because I'm not looking at that, I'm looking at the takeoff.

You are correct WWHub. I figured out that it will not take off the painted ends, tops, or ledges of a split wall. Even on some normal walls though, out of nowhere, it decides to not takeoff the normal sides of some walls, at random. It is just on the current project I am working on. I visually shows that it is painted, but will not show up in the schedule? I think I have a work around though. I just built a wall sweep to cover the parts of the walls that I want, and I can rely on that a little more. Thanks
