hi using 2008 architecture looking at creating a new family, looking at producing some air conditioning units (daiken, mitsu types) what is best way to create them, either in revit or using autocad and import, have tried to import models from cad into revit but can not seem to get rendering right ( stays a plain grey colour) would like to add some detail for close up views. any ideas? regards fifthtexas england

I would suggest that you model this in Revit, probably using the wall based mechanical equipment template. You should be able to add parameters to show the power rating in schedules and if you set in the materials they should render quite realistically.
