I'm using Revit 2009 and have a question about forulas and schedules. Is there a way to define an if / then function. Take a look at the attached screen shot. I would like to somehow link the "function" field to the sq. feet per occupant field. If I choose a function, I would like a sq. foot per occupant to automatically be selected for the sq. foot / occupant field.

Unfortunately you cannot include text parameters in schedules. The best you could do would be to use a number of Yes/No parameters and then create a calculated value that reads IF(BUSINESS, 100, 0) Where BUSINESS is a Yes/No Parameter HTH.

Guys i have probably very easy problem, but I am new to Revit I have a Room schedule where I inserted few columns including calculated room area and Occupancy of people for that room. Now I would like to create a formula that would calculate the occupancy per person. So I go to the Schedule properties – Field tab – Calculated Value and there in a Formula space I write SF(which is the name of the parameter) = Area/Occupancy; however Revit gives me msg of improper use of Boolean expressions. I tried to rename “occupancy” tried to put numbers (cause I have read that Revit doesn’t deal with text) and so on, but nothing works. Would you be able to help me with that? Thank you very much for all help, valeriia

It might be the units. If occupancy is a number then the type of parameter needs to be set to area, as area / number equals area.
