I'm trying to create/alter the beam system tag so that it shows the arrows going in the direction that the joists span, rather than the extent of the beam system's span. I can go into the family editor and rotate it so that the arrows are going in the correct direction, but they go well outside of the beam system, and seem to just go a random distance. I'm trying to figure out how to make the arrows always lock to the same distance as the joist length. I've been told I need to lock the arrows to the reference planes, but I don't fully understand how I would know what those planes represent in the first place, or how to lock them to it. Any help is appreciated.
