when doing a Topo with an imported survey plan from autoCAD does it have to be in AHD levels? i do a query on the contour line and they are just lines not points or anything like i have worked with in the past. can someone advise me on what the surveyor needs to do for me

Hi CAV, when you import a 3d topo with contour lines you must import in "SITE" plan, th contour lines in CAD must have the right elevation, so after import the DWG to Revit, go to toposurface menu and convert you countours to points of revit...

thanx typhoon,

i knew i had to do it in "SITE" plan, but even when i open the contour survey up in autoCAD and do a 3d orbit on it it shows that they dont have the proper slope and they arent at the proper levels. is it how the surveyor has to format it or what?? not sure because i have always had the right levels at my old job but here they dont because this is the first time they have needed it to be 3D...

When you open in CAD the file, you must "List" the contour line and check if the "Z" have the right elevation, if not, my advise is do it in CAD because if you import the contours to Revit with Z=0 then you must "put" the points in the contours one by one, it's sucks....
