Hi All!

We're currently trying to model one of our previous projects, with some succes. Here's our current issue: we have an exterior CMU wall with stucco, with the occasional Stud wall bump out. Inside the stud wall, however, we're still seeing stucco from the CMU wall (see image). We first tried using a single wall with wrapping, then opted for three walls in a U-shape, both with the same result.

We were thinking we could use a third wall type (CMU without stucco) to be placed where the stud bump-out would occur. Is this the preferred technique or are we missing something else?

Thanks for reading!!

(we're using Revit Architecture 2009)

If this does not occur in too many place, just use your edit cut profile in plan.

Thanks WWHub,

It actually does occur in quite a few places, and it might be easier to use a third CMU wall without any finishes. I've experimented with both, and it seems to be the quicker option.

Thanks for your help.

bert,

I had the same situation and did exactly what you are doing.  This is very easy if they were solid pilasters, but the program is just "doing it's job" in this case.

WWHub has the right idea were it only to happen in a couple places, though as that extra wall has the potential for creating issues down the line.
