How do I hide the blue circle at the colun axis in Revit Architecture 2009? Autodesk says it is an analytical model symbol from structural, but structural says they have no analytical model and suggested to check our VG and turn off analytical, but no analytical heading is listing. Please view image and advise. Thanks

You can edit that column, select with a crossing window and go to the "Filters" and check if there is a "Model Line", if so check only the model line and delete them...

Doesn't every structural model have an analytical model... This is the analytical line associated with the column family. You can turn it off in your model using the "Visibility/Graphic Overrides": Select the "Revit Links" tab, Highlight the liked file and select the "host view" button. Next check the custom box on the basics tab then select the "model categories" use the pulldown to select "custom" Scroll down to "structural columns" expand and uncheck the "analytical model". Unfortunately this has to be done in each view but it can be handled more effectively using view templates. The final step is to respond to your structural team and make sure they are aware they are simultaneously building the analytical model whether they are using it or not .

Typhoon- thanks for the advise, unfortunately structural gave me the same steps to turn off the analytical tab in VG overrides, but when I get to structural columns there is no analytical tab listed. I'll keep searching and if you have other suggestions / workarounds please let me know. Thanks

jeffrb25, Using the same method described above can you confirm that you are expanding the "structural columns" and not just the "columns" category? Perhaps a screenshot of your visiblity graphic overrides may help? Edited on: Mon, Jul 28, 2008 at 11:48:02 AM

Hi JEFF, can you put this model here to download to take a look and check what's going one?

Currently I do not have Revit Building. (only structure) so the files I am posting will be from Revit Structure. There are two files; File A and File B. File B has File A linked into it. Within Revit Structure I have the ability to turn off the analytical model for the linked view in my "visibilty graphic overrides" by expanding the structural column tab. My assumption is that Revit building does not list structural columns in the "visibility graphic each views "visibility graphic overrides", using the procedure listed in the previous post. I have applied this method to the linked File A within File B. If you are using Revit building you may need to select the "show categories from all disciplines" on the "model categories" tab of the "RVT Link Display Settings" in order to expand the structural columns to turn off the analytical model.

In revit 2014 i got black circles/ balls in planview of hollow section coluns, one on each side 2 total).
I notised them first when i changed to thinner line wight (cut lines).
I removed them by unchecking hidden faces, in VG, under structural columns.
